![]() ![]() As you would imagine, this configuration isn’t perfect. From there, you’ll just need to select the specific apps that you’d like to receive notifications from. After you’ve paired the Gear Fit, head over to the “Notifications” section and tap on the bar labeled, “General Notifications.” This will prompt you to enable system-wide notifications for your Gear Fit. After you’ve installed both of the apps, launch the Gear Fit Manager and connect your Gear Fit via Bluetooth using the on-screen instructions. Next, download the Gear Fitness app ( located here) and install it as well. First download the Gear Fit Manager ( located here) and sideload it onto your device. If you’re interested in testing out this method, there are a few things you need to do. Check out the video tutorial below for a full walk-through and demo. Unfortunately, this same method didn’t work with the Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo, but we’ll take what we can get. The interesting part is, all that it took was sideloading a couple of apps onto a non-Galaxy device. ![]() It’s very likely that you’ll be able to get this to work on other Android devices though. This doesn’t mean that KitKat is required, but it’s better to lay out all of the facts surrounding our experience. We haven’t had the opportunity to test this method on a wide variety of Android devices, but it’s important to note that both the HTC One M8 and M7 we’ve tested were running Android 4.4.2. We’ve learned that the Gear Fit can can function with almost 100 percent of its features on other Android devices such as the HTC One M8. Once again, Samsung is keeping its Gear line within the family, but luckily we’ve found a way around this small problem. According to Samsung, the Gear Fit will only work with 17 different Galaxy devices including the new Galaxy S5. I add to it every day from my office and on the go and need to be able to look at the same calendar.Samsung’s Gear Fit smartwatch/fitness band is finally available online and in stores, but unfortunately, its Android compatibility is still very limited. Part of me wonders if it will fix itself with the ICS update but I kinda need my calendar app. I have searched all kinds of sites and cant seem to find anyone else describing my problem as I'm having it. Got excited when I thought I had found a fix when I read about clearing the calendar storage in the manage applications section in the main settings and re-syncing everything but even that hasn't worked. Turns out the only thing the native calendar app wont do is the only thing I need it to do, which is, ADD NEW EVENTS FROM THE NOTE. In fact just tested it out and I can actually delete an event from the note and it will delete on the desktop. AND If I make changes from my desktop they show up on the note. I should mention here that when I first loaded the calendar as a widget or just went into the app it was already populated with my calendar entries. I can enter accounts and sync independent the calendar re-direct and still no fix. I can re sync all day long and it still doesn't work. When I click on "Go to account and sync" it takes me into "accounts and sync" where my accounts are clearly and properly synced. "Go to account and sync" or "Do not show again" You need a Google account."Īt the bottom of this pop up there are two options "Local calendar cannot sync with Google calendar. Now, if I just hit ok there is a second pop up that says "Google calendar cannot sync with Samsung Kies. The quick add feature seems very enticing but when I hit the "+" button (top left) on the widget or the app itself I get a pop up that says My trouble has been with the native calendar app. I feel with this phone, more than any other I've had, that it will be more than capable. First off the Samsung native apps are beautiful! That said, I would really like to try using native apps this time arround for a change. ![]()
